​What story are you going to tell?

Discover the professional history of Mathieu Blanchard and what inspired him to launch, in October 2019, an online store concept offering a selection of jewelry from local jewelers as well as his own creations. With the development of our business, we have opened a space to the public in Granby, where we are happy to share important moments of life with our customers. In addition to the online store, our jewelry workshop now offers a warm atmosphere conducive to the creation of unique jewelry that tells stories.

2011 - 2013

Every beautiful story has a beginning... and that of Mathieu Blanchard begins with a passion for body piercing and associated jewelry.

At the age of 16, while in my final year of high school, I had the opportunity to start out as a professional piercer. I had already accumulated a year of training and benefited from the support of an experienced person. A year of learning, doubts, energy, and, sometimes, a dose of naivety: I was driven by a crazy desire to make my passion my profession in the short term.

You have surely heard that young entrepreneurs must be ready to do anything to succeed? Well, I fully subscribe to this principle. I put all my heart and all my energy into making this adventure evolve. At the age of 18, I was able to affirm that living fully from my passion for piercing was indeed possible.

The evolution of Adrenaline

If someone had warned me that I would have to work 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, invest all my savings and sacrifice my social life, I might have hesitated before embarking, with my mother, on this adventure. To be honest, about ten people warned me, but I decided to follow my instinct. This is undoubtedly what gives meaning to my determination to succeed.

For the first eight months, I juggled a second full-time job with growing our business. Gradually, Studio Adrénaline - Drummondville transformed into an urban boutique. Brand after brand, in addition to piercings, we expanded our range of products: rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, watches and jewelry for piercings were now offered in store.

Studio Adrénaline - Drummondville becomes Bijouterie Le Duo.

As of January 15, 2017, it's official: Studio Adrénaline - Drummondville becomes Bijouterie Le Duo. I still vividly remember the strange feeling and thrill I felt when I got home after officially announcing the change. It was an intense mixture of happiness, excitement, stress, anxiety and the fear of breaking down at any moment: I was now part, with the company, of the great family of Quebec jewelry stores.

Mom (who covers all store opening hours), dad, my brothers, my aunts, my cousins, my best friend, everyone pitched in at some point. Signage, furniture, events, installation of numerous new displays, orders, accounting... there was no time for rest.

The end of an adventure.

On February 8, 2018, with a heavy heart and with emotions difficult to describe, I unexpectedly announced the closure of Bijouterie Le Duo . An interesting offer, too good to refuse, came my way. After reflection, I considered that it was a perfect opportunity to enrich my experience, and therefore, a wise decision.

An incredible dose of love was felt until the end of this month. Some shed tears, others hugged us, and some went out of their way to greet us and wish us good luck in our future endeavors.

Everything was liquidated, and we left our second home on March 1, 2018.

2019

A new story

A big return to the field! I have always aspired to create much more than just a boutique, and it was in 2019 that I finally dared to realize my ultimate project: launching a boutique of jewelry, accessories and favorites in my name. Of course, Chantal, my mother, once again agreed to support me in this new adventure, also feeling this need for renewal. We worked hard for months to create something exceptional, paying attention to every detail. This is how www.mathieublanchard.ca was born.
