The Harrison watch, by Mathieu Blanchard, is freely designed, taking inspiration from the most prodigious master watchmakers the field has ever known. This model is thus named in tribute to John Harrison: a self-taught cabinetmaker and watchmaker. He was one of the most important horologists of the 18th century and left his mark on the history of global watchmaking with the invention of the marine chronometer and the pendulum clock.

The durability of a product depends primarily on its materials. For Mathieu Blanchard Signature watches, we use materials that are durable over time.
For the glass, we use sapphire crystal: it is the most frequently used glass on high-end watches today. Sapphire crystal is 10 times harder than mineral glass and 4 times harder than acrylic glass. It is virtually impossible to scratch, except by a diamond, which is even harder. This glass is laboratory-designed.
For the watch cases and straps, we have made enormous efforts to produce using sustainable materials such as natural wood, sourced from sustainable suppliers, and matte-finish stainless steel. This finish allows for visual durability, as wear and tear over time is much less noticeable than on a polished finish.
Loving nature, it is often a source of calm and comfort for us, and quite frequently the starting point for our jewelry & accessory collections. We are proud to offer watches designed from noble, sustainable materials. Our primary material is wood, which offers a significant environmental advantage over other comparable materials: low carbon emissions during the production process and the biodegradable nature of the materials.
Our watches are handmade with great precision by a team with a wealth of experience. Each watch is naturally unique and crafted with real wood such as walnut and oak (from whiskey barrels).
